The Tachihara is a large format field camera using 4x5 inch sheet film. It is beautifully handcrafted from Japanese red cherry wood and is a real show stopper.
This is my favorite camera, because it is light (for a large format camera, anyways) and thus easy to carry in a backpack. It offers adequate movement for most applications, short of exacting architectural photography and the like (although there are people who have successfully worked as architectural photographers with a Tachi).
I bought mine in 2003.
